Flying Weather Update going into the Weekend and early Next Week

Flying weather probably was ok last night after the warm front moved through between 2 – 4 PM. We’ve had some good friends, the Leahy’s from Clayton up on the St Lawrence, come down for a visit so didn’t bother booking passengers for Thur PM. Johnnie is the older bro of Senator Pat from VT and a long time friend. The flying weather for balloon rides is not looking good for probably right through the weekend now. We have the chance for some heavy rain today into Saturday with a stalled-out cold front waiting for Hurricane Bill to pass off the east coast into the Canadian Maritime’s by Monday. How much rain we get will depend on where the stalled-out front gets hung up.  An upper level low is positioned over the Great Lakes and will probably be overhead on Sunday with a chance of showers through early Monday, all because of the hurricane blocking systems from moving through. A much cooler and dryer high will move in later on Monday with another system forecast to move through mid week and then clear with a nice high for the end of the week. Keep the umbrellas handy this weekend, they will be needed! Looking forward to our fall hot air balloon flying season which is just around the corner.
