After a beautiful day on Monday, our weather will go down hill again for the next couple of days. This morning, there is a low level wind shear of 30kts about 1500 ft above ground level which is keeping our flight on the ground this morning. Rain returns for Wednesday, with improving weather for Thursday and early Friday. The weekend looks typical for this month, probably not flyable. Maybe we will get to do our flights on Sunday, but currently they are forecasting windy conditions with lake effect rain/snow showers post Saturday’s frontal passage and rain. The wife and I took a tour of southern Washington County a week ago to enjoy the fall colors and the gorgeous scenery. One of our favorite drives is between south of Cambridge and Greenwich, and north of Eagle Bridge and Schaghticok. It’s an area that looks more early to mid 20th, rather than 21st century.

This past Sunday, we also took a drive out East of Argyle in the Hebron’s along Cty Rt 31. The late fall colors were spectacular, especially the views along Halls Pond Rd. We then traveled toward West Pawlet in VT to Ruppert, then back to the beautiful village of Salem and back home. Sunday was a lovely day to explore after the heavy rains of Friday and Saturday. The flying season is rapidly coming to a close. Looking forward to our trip to Golden CO to visit with son Grant and his family, and then ski season.
