According to today’s weather forecasting, the coming storm will be a full blown nor’easter. The Albany National Weather Service is using words like “meteorological bomb” to describe the storm that will be developing overnight, potentially dumping around a foot of heavy wet snow in the area overnight and on Friday. Then as we get into April, it looks like there are 2 to 3 fairly wet systems coming through. One Monday night into Tuesday, another on Wednesday and not sure if they are talking about another system or just a continuation of Wednesdays system on Thursday and Friday? Anyhow – “April showers bring May flowers”, or so it goes?

Last Ski for the Season
Wednesday, March 16th, 2011Yesterday was a beautiful day, and I took advantage of the conditions and headed over to our local hill, West Mountain for a last ski for this year. There are signs that Spring is on it’s way and Winter is waning.

It was a beautiful morning to ride the old chair to the top of West.

Great conditions for a late winter day.

Ski Trip to Gore
Wednesday, March 9th, 2011Today was ski Gore day, before the next system comes-in, looking rather wet with not much snow. Gore’s web site said they got 25″ from the storm, and their ski conditions showed it.

On the road to Gore, lots of snow piled up along Rt 28.

A Beautiful Morning to Ski
Friday, March 4th, 2011I took a quick trip to our local hill, West Mountain, for a little ski R&R on a beautiful late winter morning-especially before the crap weather moves in for the weekend and ruins the excellent ski conditions. I know a lot of folks out there are tired of winter this year, but if you live around here, you really need to get out and enjoy what winter has to offer.

How about that beautiful blue sky-nice temp and no wind;-)

Great conditions and no crowds - what could be better!!
