Recent Hot Air Balloon Rides and Weather Forecast
Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013We just had a very nice patch of weather at the end of September for doing some early fall foliage hot air balloon rides in our beautiful Adirondacks/Lake George/Albany-The Capital District region.

The weekend flights started on Saturday evening with a group of friends, Jeff and Maureen from Aberdeen NJ, and Rose and Michael from Brooklyn NY.

Next flight was on Sunday morning with two couples, Ken and Sharon from Blairstown NJ, and Ramya and Abhilash from Webster NY.

Next up, on Sunday evening was Doug and Jackie from Highland IN on a Private Flight, who made us a part of their extended fall tour of the NorthEast.
I wish that the weather forecast for the coming weekend for our Adirondack, Lake George Region was as nice as it was for the last 10 days or so, but, it looks like it will be a bit of a challenge to get many flights in thru early next week. There still is a lot of time left to enjoy our fall foliage flights, so get your reservation in before the season ends. Call me @ 518-793-6342

Recent Flights and Weather Forecast
Thursday, September 26th, 2013The weather forecast for the Adirondacks, Lake George, Albany-The Capital District, looks fantastic right thru early next week for our hot air balloon rides. Unfortunately, the flying weather did not cooperate for last weekend’s Adirondack Balloon Festival or our hot air balloon rides. But, for those who want to view the fall foliage that is rapidly coming-on, this is a great time to do it, and there is no better way than above it from a hot air balloon.

On Tuesday morning, I flew Ellen and her brother Gary visiting from West Bend WI, and Karen and Darlene, local from Queensbury.

Wednesday afternoon was another beautiful day for flying, on-board was Craig and Susan from Queensbury.

Recent Flight and Weather Forecast
Wednesday, September 25th, 2013Unfortunately, the flying weather was not good for us this past weekend, which coincided with the annual Adirondack Balloon Festival . That weekend seems to be snake-bit as this is the 4th or 5th year in a row that the Balloon Festival weekend has been mostly a wash for flying. Anyhow, Tuesday morning was beautiful for doing a flight for some local folks from Floyd Bennett Airport.
The weather forecast for the Adirondack/Lake George/Albany-The Capital District region is fantastic for flying right thru next week. The fall foliage is looking good, so it’s a good time to take a hot air balloon ride with us. Weekends are a bit full, but flights during the week are still available through our fall foliage flying season. So give us a call @ 518-793-6342 to make a reservation to view the fall foliage by hot air balloon.

Recent Hot Air Balloon Rides and Weather Forecast
Monday, September 16th, 2013The weather improved over the weekend after all the heavy rain earlier in the week for doing hot air balloon rides. Our first flight was on Saturday evening –

On Sunday morning, I flew Julie from Clifton Park and her father Tom from Yonkers. Sharing the ride with them was Art from New York City on a gift flight.
The all important Adirondacks/Lake George/Albany region weather forecast for the week heading into the Adirondack Balloon Festival looks good for flying during the week, but a bit unsettled over the weekend. The weather charts from the Weather Prediction Center show high pressure over the area for a good deal of the week, then a frontal passage on Saturday. For those looking to view the balloons at the Adirondack Balloon Festival, your best opportunity will be on Thursday evening at Crandall Park and Friday evening out at the Airport festival location. If things work out, they may be able to fly on Saturday morning before the rain and wind with the cold front. Sunday probably won’t happen, but, you never know for sure until the day of with the weather.

Recent Hot Air Balloon Rides and Weather Forecast
Tuesday, September 10th, 2013We did manage to do a couple of flights when we got a brake with the weather. First was the past Saturday morning –
The weather forecast for the Lake George, Saratoga Springs area for this week is not very good for doing balloon rides until we get to the weekend, specifically Sunday from what they are currently showing today. On another note about current showing of weather forecasts, last week I mentioned in my blog post that the CPC’s 7-10 day outlook forecast was looking wet heading into the upcoming Adirondack Hot Air Balloon Festival. Well, seems there has been a change of heart as far as their forecast models, and they are now advertising above average dry? Hey, it’s the northeast. Give the forecast a minute, and it’ll change – for the good this time!

Recent Balloon Flight and Weather Forecast
Wednesday, September 4th, 2013Well, the flying weather for balloon rides in the Lake George/Saratoga Springs area for the Labor Day Holiday weekend, was a bust for me, as was the week going into Labor Day. The Bermuda high that set-up over our area did me no favors, just as it didn’t when it was here for much of early July. We did manage to get on flight in on the morning of the 30th.
It’s looking like our weather is starting to shift toward fall/winter with the passing of the Labor Day holiday. It’s amazing how it works, the calendar turns and we start our steady march toward winter. I have to admit that I do love the Fall time of year.
On another weather note with the coming Adirondack Balloon Festival, I don’t want to rain on anybodies parade, but the forecast from the Climate Prediction Center is turning familiar to last couple of festivals. Hopefully, the systems will shift off the coast just in time!

Recent Balloon Rides and Weather
Monday, August 26th, 2013We just had a fantastic string of beautiful weather the last couple of weeks. Great for doing some flying, and it was also great for partying and enjoying the area’s amenities with family that was in-town for a week long mooch. The weather forecast for this week for the Adirondacks, Lake George, Saratoga Springs region does not look good for flying until we get close and into the upcoming Labor Day Holiday Weekend.
Now it’s time to update recent flights from the beautiful weekend we just had – –

On the afternoon flight of the 24th, Julianna and Anthony of Tarrytown NY got engaged. Congratulations guys!

For my last flight of the weekend, on Sunday morning I flew sisters Sherri from Sauquoit NY and Laura from Clinton NY.
