The Door To New York's
Adirondack Region.
You would expect a vacation town with a
beautiful lake in the Adirondacks to be spectacular, and
this is certainly the case with
Lake George. But that is
just the beginning.
As you slowly rise above the ground in our hot air balloon, and take in all the
views, you notice some of the landmarks in the
surrounding local towns of
Glens Falls,
Queensbury, Diamond
Point, Warrensburg and Cleverdale. As you start to reach the
top floating altitude, you see the Green Mountains of
Vermont to the east, and the majestic Adirondack Mountains
to the north and west. And if you peak south you may even be
able to catch a glimpse of the mighty Hudson River.
The Village of Lake George is a fantastic
vacation destination nestled in the southern Adirondacks.
Whatever you would expect to find when you're on a vacation
you'll find here - hiking, beaches, boating, mini golf, theme
parks and more. It has enough variety to satisfy both couples on
a romantic Adirondack getaway and a family away on spring break.
The majority of activity centers around the lake itself. There's
boating, fishing, sun bathing and even island camping available
from Spring through Fall. Restaurants and hotels make use of the
lake with waterfront properties that overlook Lake George and
out onto the Adirondack Mountains. On the southern end of the
lake is The Village, where you can walk down Canada Street,
popping in and out of the local shops that line both sides of
the main road. Just south of The Village is
the Great Escape and
Splash Water Kingdom Theme Park, where you'll find hundreds of
rides and attractions for people of all ages to enjoy. |
